|HQ ROKAF Building;
The headquarters of the Korean Air Force was on the south side of the Han River in Seoul. Flags at
the building top are for the Commanding General ROKAF, South Korea, ROKAF, and the U.S. The main
offices of the U.S. 6146th AF Advisory Group were located in this building. Housing facilities for the
6146th in Seoul were at Youngsan and Camp Coiner on the north side of the Han River. Other 6146th
operations were conducted in various locations to include air bases, supply depots, and radar sites.

|Youngmunsan ROKAF Radar Site

Advisor, 6146th Air Force Advisory Group. This radar site is not far
from the mid point of the DMZ. Shown are the radomes covering
the search and height finder radar antennas and some of the site
buildings. The road up the mountain to the radar site was very
steep and deadly in the winter with vehicles sliding off the road.
Four 6146th NCO advisors called Youngmunsan home during their
tour and assisted with radar operations and maintenance.
Advisors were also stationed at the other ROKAF Radar Sites
located thoughout South Korea. Their mission was aircraft control
& warning (AC&W) for air defense of the peninsula
